For minor procedures (such as dental work) patients often stay on their Suboxone and supplement with higher dose ibuprofen and obtain adequate pain relief.  If more invasive surgery is needed, then we will discuss with you when you should stop the Suboxone, and then when it should be restarted.  It is important to discuss any procedure you will be having with your physician so that a well thought out plan can be implemented.  Also, you should not take any pain medications for minor issues while on Suboxone.
